I just installed VDR fresh on a debian machine (also fresh install). I followed hooch's step by step procedure, including downloading and installing the script that switches the install to support NTSC. But when I run VDR, I get a scrolling black screen with the date/time on the right, and the test VDR startup sequence for a brief moment in the middle. I am assuming that it is still in PAL. Hardware is a Hauppauge Nexus-S Rev 2.3 Regards, Ken

VDR 1.3.32 crashes if recording date is in the future

Hi Klaus, I tried 1.3.32 (plain, only remote-Plugin) and it always crashed with a "Speicherzugriffsfehler". vdr-1.3.32 segfault when reading summary.vdr

Hi list, I have a summary.vdr file from the old days which crashes vdr 1.3.32 when trying to read it. Attached is the summary.vdr file and a small patch to recording.c which prevents vdr from crashing. Passing events to plugins or external programs

I have equipped my vdr system with a solid-state relay that can power on and off the monitor and speakers. The relay should be connected to the value of Setup.Suspend (see my patch from yesterday). I am not too familiar with the plugin interface of vdr, but I got the impression that the only way to implement such a relay control in a plugin would be by polling, which is inefficient. VDR support for V4 API

Has anyone attempted to update the patch to VDR for the dvb-kernel V4 API? I noticed there is a patch already there for vdr-1.3.9 (vdr-1.3.9-v4.patch). I was just wondering if anyone has tried this lately. It seems the V4 API is better suited for full featured dvb cards and the V3 API for "budget" cards. It would be nice to get started testing with it. Best Regards.
