Do you use vdpau? I have got similar reports which only appear with vdpau and h264. There is no problem when using ffmpeg as decoder. It looks like vdpau h264 decoder leaks some images.

No, I have used xv output with standard mpeg2 channels. BTW.: it seems that pes recordings have the same problem but they don't occour allways. It's not only a problem of ts recordings.

Please try the newest hg xine-lib-1.2 tree. There has been some recent work to fix these problems.
