I do prefer BBC's South Today to London's regional news. But the big advantage of BBC 1 London is that it's on the same transponder as BBC 2 England, Channel 5 and BBC THREE etc, so you can record/watch more than one at a time, whereas the other regions tend to be shared with other regions of the same channel.
