Hi!
The transfer-mode uses always priority -1.
That presents a problem: If I connect to that vdr using streamdev, it
switches the first budget device off from the multiplex transfered to
the FF card, although there is a second identical budget device available.
Also, if I had DVB-S FF and only one DVB-T budget and had a DVB-T
recording with priority 10 and Primary Limit at 20, live DVB-T video
would (wouldn't it?) be severed.
Klaus, shouldn't transfer-mode be also using the Primary …
[View More]Limit value, so
that recordings with priority less than Primary Limit couldn't distract
the output of primary device?
Patch attached.

Hi!
VDR constantly changes the frequency of one multiplex in DVB-T.
Here's an example:
Correct:
Urheilukanava;Suomen Urheilutelevisio
Oy:770000000:C23D23M64B8T8G8Y0:T:27500:417+130:673=fin:929:0:113:8438:12289:0
But then VDR decides to change it:
Dec 29 18:32:48 delta vdr[18069]: changing transponder data of channel
22 from T:770000000:0:3:0:2:2:2:1 to T:674000000:0:3:0:2:2:2:1
And then of course the channels stop being watchable.
I took a dvbsnoop on PID 16 to grab the NIT tables (or …
[View More]whatever they're
called).
The two SECT-packets which are looped in the PID 16 are both in:
http://anssi.hopto.org/dvbsnoop-MUX3-pid16
BTW, I put a debug output entry in nit.c line 173 to grab the frequency
returned by getFrequency(), and I get these kind of results:
FREQUENCY, 562000000
FREQUENCY, 658000000
FREQUENCY, 674000000
However the correct frequencies of the muxes are 490000, 578000, and
770000. However I've no idea why mux3 is the only one of which frequency
VDR tries to change.

This is excactly what I mean.

This is what I have in autotimers
- Search string "big brother" from title
- every weekday
- channel subtv
- no starting or ending times
- priority 50
- lifetime 99
=> 1:big brother:1:::0:50:99:C-0-2-97::0:1111111
and another one
- Search string "idols" from title
- every weekday
- channel subtv
- no starting or ending times
- priority 50
- lifetime 99
=> 1:idols:1:::0:50:99:C-0-2-97::0:1111111
I have set 1 min before and 10 mins after boundaries
>From 9 pm to 9:30 pm was Idols extra and 9:30pm to 10pm was Big brother
I ended up with two recordings
1. Idols extra beginning from 8:59pm
2. Idols extra beginning from 9:29pm
This is from the log
Dec 18 20:59:01 kartzan vdr[6564]: timer 29 (5 2059-2140 'Idols Extra')

As you can see the titles of the programs are quite right but the timer
names are wrong and the recording is done to false directory.

This recording has no autotimer entry unless you take the big brother entry
as the autotimer for this one since it is named after it.

As you see the patterns can no meens be found from the titles :)
The funny thing is that there was no problems with the earlier version I was
using (vdradmin-0.97-am3.1).

After an upgrade to 1.3.34 all works just fine while viewing Eurosport and
Nickelodeon.
But if I make a recording from Eurosport och Nickelodeon and replay that
recording I get audio channels "1" and "2" instead of the "nor+fin" and
"sve+dan" i get during wathcing live tv.
Is this expected behaviour or have I overlooked somethins else?

I wonder why the two shown timers have flags=9. I think it's OK for timer #8
because it's running. But timer #5 starts at 21:15 and the system time is
20:35. So why is it set to "currently recording"?
Can someone please explain?
Kind regards,
Andreas

DVD plugin seems to work well, except for audio. I only got noise
from analog output of TechnoTrend DVB-C 2.1. I suppose there is
byteswap problem when running on big-endian system.

Hi Folks! Klaus!
this is probably something easily answered, and I guess
I just missed it somewhere in the docu ... so apologies
in andvance ...
I have the following (unusual?) setup (at one location)
with two dvb-s cards, one FF, one budget, connected to
two different lnbs (i.e. two different sattelites), and
I can watch channels on the FF card, and record channels
on the budget card (no soft device or similar plugin),
but currently the only way to watch channels received on
the budget card …
[View More]is to 'pause the live stream', and then
continue (which basically is recording and playback on
the FF card), I'm pretty sure there must be a better way
to accomplish this ...
TIA,
Herbert
PS: the setup is ore a test than something permanent ...
PPS: thanks for any ideas/suggestions/clues ...

Hi list,
I'll be releasing this and a few other patches for VDR 1.3.33, which have
evolved during the last months while working on XeatreOS (a distribution
based on LinVDR 0.7, which is used for the Xeatre boxes,
http://www.xeatre.tv/). Some of their functionality may already be included
in plugins or other patches. Nevertheless, I'd like to release them now, and
let everybody decide whether they are useful or not.
This one adds a non-selectable item in schedules whenever a date change …

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get vdr to work with a Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T USB2? I'm
trying to add one to an existing system with a PCI DVB-T card and it just
keeps on restarting because it cannot get a signal from the USB device which
hotplug sets to /dev/dvb/adaptor0. Hotplug loads the firmware and all looks
good.
There are issues with the filter timeout on these devices (see
http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2005-May/001738.html). If I use
'scan' from dvb-apps, all I get is the …
[View More]initial transponder. If I add a '-5'
option to extend the filter timeout, I get a full listing of all the
available transponders.
If I use softdevice for output, I never actually see any video, just a series
of 'reconfiguring layer' messages, which I think is a sign of no MPEG stream.
If I run with just streamdev-server, I can switch channels with using SVDRP
but it seems to switch between transponders just a little bit too quickly for
my liking, i.e. as if it isn't actually switching it! In fact, if I try 'scan
-c' to scan the currently tuned transponder, I get:
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0011
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000
dumping lists (0 services)
Done.
Which looks like it isn't tuned to anything (doing the same for the PCI card
gives an instant list of channels).
Has anyone sorted this one out? Is it a problem with filter timeout on tuning
or something else? What's the easiest way of testing to see if it is actually
streaming data (once tuned with tzap) to discount that option? I would
usually use dvbstream but that fails for this device, I think because of the
timeout problem again (saw references to this in the linux-dvb mailing list).
Would changing PMT_SCAN_TIMEOUT in pat.c help me here?
For reference:
$ tzap "BBC ONE"
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
reading channels from file '/home/laz/.tzap/channels.conf'
tuning to 722166670 Hz
video pid 0x0258, audio pid 0x0259
status 1f | signal 0700 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ff3f | snr 0001 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 0703 | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 0000 | snr ffff | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 0000 | snr ffff | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 0000 | snr ffff | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 0000 | snr ffff | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
Which carries on spewing out the last line for ever.
I'm a tad worried about the signal 0000 bit! Maybe it is actually tuning but
then not outputting a dvb stream. It's been a while since I've had to resort
to dvb-apps because vdr has pretty much 'just worked' with my PCI cards!
This is with DVB drivers form a 2.6.12.5 kernel and vdr-1.3.36.
Cheers,
Laz
