off topic - 'avimerge' audio sync

Hi. I've merged a bunch of AVI clips from my camera and am playing them under the mplayer plugin. Doesn't appear to be to do with the plugin, but it looks like 'avimerge' loses audio sync. After the 3rd or 4th merges clip plays, the audio is significantly ahead of the video. any ideas?

Thread priority of cutting thread in vdr

'm also using older PC types (PIII) and the cpu load of the cutting thread is seriously hampering the resposiveness of vdr. Is there a way to lower the priority of the thread for cutting ? I know there are some patches around (cutter-queue; bandwith), but both seems not to address it on the thread priority. Wouldn't it being a real solution to make the cutter a background task on nice level ? I've tried to understand how vdr sets the thread priority but I got lost. Can somebody shed some … [View More]

mp3 plugin : image corruption

Hi. I'm having problems with the image being displayed when playing mp3s from this plugin. -the image_convert script that converts CD covers to mpgs runs -the image is cached -any image displayed with the first track displays fine -as soon as the 2nd track plays, the new image becomes pixelated (see attached) I can display the cached mpg image fine outside of VDR (in 'Image Viewer'), but the mp3 plugin displays it as per the attached photo. It's the same for all converted images. Any ideas?

does vdr set priority of its threads/processes?

Hello, If I were going to set the priority of the recording and/or playback threads, so that some functions in vdr would run with higher or lower priority than others, where could I easily set it? Is there a "snapshot" that is a paragraph long that briefly describes vdr's threads and their suggested importance and order of execution? _J

Hello, I haven't tried with a vanila vdr-1.3.34 but with vdr-1.3.34 and bigpatch1 a recording of 563' (shown right in Recordings menu) I can't fast forward, neither edit any marks, in fact the time shown in viewing it start at "-9:-16:-55" to end at "0:06:11". I don't really care about this recording as it is an error (it's a little too long...) but I have tried to do a "genindex" in the directoty, and then a touch /video0/.update which don't change anything as the new index.vdr is the same … [View More]

vdr and analogtv and xine?

Hi, i'd like to record movies with my Hauppauge PVR 350 and use my normal graphics card to view movies. So i configured and installed the plugins analogtv and xine. In one shell i start "vdr -Panalogtv -Pxine" and in another shell: xine "vdr:/tmp/vdr-xine/stream#demux:mpeg_pes" I can see the OSD in xine, but only the background "No Signal". I can record from /dev/video via command line, so basically it should work. I wonder about the line that says that says: /dev/video0 ('WinTV PVR 350') does not support streaming i/o. Whenever i press a key in VDR, i get an output line by "xine" that says: vdr: osdflush: n: 1, 10, 4 # the numbers are varying. So does VDR not update the screen of xine cyclically? How can i get a picture in xine? Do i need another plugin? Or some other options? image/sound stutter when watching live, but not in the processed recording

Hi, I am using vdr with the xine output plugin. When I tune to a certain channel the image stutters slightly, and the sound is off for more than half of the time. I thought this is the result of a bad signal, but the femon Plugin showed similar signal strength/ snr for all channels. Error when grabing an image from vdr

Hi, I have 2 tv cards : 1 analog (/dev/video0,tvtime) and 1 dvb-s (/dev/video1,vdr) When i grab an image with vdr 1.3.34 (telnet 2001), i get an image from /dev/video0 and not from /dev/video1.
